I am an experienced architect and have recently received my MSc in Sustainable Buildings and Environments from Newcastle University, 2018. I have always found great interest in designing environmentally friendly buildings, which my masters allowed me to explore especially during my thesis research titled: “Designing a near autonomous house in Palestine”. My rationale came from the need to design small, self-sufficient housing units in areas where political restrictions on energy and building regulations are playing a role in causing living conditions to be inefficient and uncomfortable. I used IESVE software to reach my objectives, which later led to me winning the Martin Gough global student award for 2019 for excellence in research in using IESVE software. I joined the CDT ERBE this year, as a Doctoral Researcher to extend my research in sustainable and energy efficient buildings and to achieve my scope to become a leader in energy efficient design.
