Orlaith McGinley, MaREI ERBE PhD Student in NUI Galway won an Award for Best Student Paper in Energy at the recent Civil Engineering Research in Ireland 2020 conference.
Paper Title: Key considerations in the design of a One-Stop-Shop retrofit model.
Overview of the paper – This paper provided a definition of the One-Stop-Shop model, highlighted its benefits and how it responds to some of the most persistent barriers limiting retrofit uptake in Ireland. The paper reviewed existing literature and existing European OSS business models, with a focus on the customer segment in these models. A discussion was then provided on the potential reach of such customer segments in the Irish context, toward the achievement of the ambitious retrofit targets set in the Irish Government’s Climate Action Plan.
