After studying an undergraduate degree in Energy Physics at the University of Groningen, Jordan went on to gather a more practical perspective by completing a masters in sustainable energy engineering at the University of Nottingham. He then gained experience in building energy modelling and designing energy systems whilst working as a building physics engineer for a Mechanical & Electrical consultancy. His main research interests lie in the interaction between the built environment and the energy supply system.
The physical understanding of space heating flexibility
This research aims to characterise and quantify building thermal responsiveness using an empirical methodology. By exploring how modifications to a building impact its short-term thermal storage potential and ability to participate in demand response.
