ERBE at Loughborough welcomes its new Academic Manager

ERBE staff at Loughborough, UCL and at MaREI are pleased to welcome back an old friend, Dr Arash Beizaee, as the new Academic Manager for ERBE in Loughborough.

Arash is well known to Loughborough staff and students as he was one of the earliest graduates of the London-Loughborough (LoLo) CDT in Energy Demand. His PhD project concerned the energy savings of zonal heating controls in homes, which was the first projects to reliably quantify the energy saving potential and cost effectiveness of such systems. His previous MRes work reported the incidence of overheating in UK homes, and brought the problem to the attention of the Adaptation Sub-Committee of the Commission on Climate Change. Both these works have been widely reported and cited. Since leaving Loughborough, Arash has been immersed in teaching at De Montfort University where he has been developing a wider interests in the environment in spaces in overseas countries.

Arash’s interest in the environment within domestic buildings, will become increasingly important as we strive to achieve a more energy efficient and resilient energy future.

We are pleased to be welcoming Arash, sure in the knowledge that he has the skills, knowledge and commitment to drive the ERBE CDT forward.
